This past Saturday was our Dallas baby shower hosted by my mom, Louise, stepmom, Karen, and two step sisters, Lauren and Taylor. Taylor opened her gorgeous home and it was the perfect backdrop to the day. We chose to go with a brunch theme with sweet and savory small bites, flavored juices, and a mimosa bar. After searching Pinterest for inspiration we decided on mini quiche, mini chicken and waffles, donut holes, kolaches, mini muffins, and yogurt parfaits with berries and granola.
We had the best cake from Society Bakery in Dallas. It was banana chocolate chip and was light and not too sweet. It was almost too pretty to eat!
There was a mimosa bar with orange juice and peach nectar to make Bellini's. As well as different juices and lemon water.
Ronnie created all the food labels, menu sign, and invitation. I loved the color scheme we chose and thought it added just enough color.
I asked guests to sign a children's book called "On The Night You Were Born" by Nancy Tillman and write sweet notes to Baby J that will help us to always remember this time. I forgot to take pictures before the guests came but found this shot.
After visiting with everyone, we started to open gifts. I was so overwhelmed with how generous everyone was to us. I was telling Ronnie how loved and blessed I felt during the shower. We have lots of love and support surrounding us as we bring our daughter into the world.
Here are a few iPhone photos that people shared with me.
It was a wonderful day and we are so thankful!
