Hi.

Welcome to She Is Blessed. Hope you follow along on my journey through the adventures of marriage, becoming a mom, creations in the kitchen, my love of all things sweet, and my journey of faith.

Christmas in The Johnson Home!

Christmas in The Johnson Home!

This is our first Christmas in our new home and I've been so excited to decorate! Last year we moved into a two bedroom apartment December 10th and I was also 9 months pregnant. We put up a small 3ft tree and I think took it down the day after Christmas. This year we jumped the gun and put up our tree a week before Thanksgiving.

We bought a large Christmas tree from Amazon this past October since we only had a mini one from our apartment days. It was super easy to put up and was so fun to watch Ellington take it all in. Ronnie and I have a tradition every year that my mom passed on to me where we give each other a new ornament on Christmas Eve each year. Most of the ones we have are from my childhood so it's fun to start building our own collection together.

Christmas time always reminds me of decorating cookies so I planned to have the girls from my community group over to decorate a batch. It was so fun to see how each girl put her creativeness to the test. My good friend Paual is crazy talented and crafty and served as inspiration for the rest of us to try and copy her designs.

I made the dough before hand from my favorite recipe and it was super simple. It does have to be chilled so if you end up making them, give yourself enough time. The girls and I made royal icing and had an assortment of sprinkles! Thankfully Ronnie took Ellington out for some Christmas shopping and we had the house to ourselves. I swear it's good for the soul to have girl time and baby free time! Here are a few of the photos from our cookies!

I hope to make this a yearly tradition with these girls and eventually add our sweet babies to the fun!
