Ellington's First Swim!
It's officially hot here in Texas with temperatures in the 90's the last few weeks and it's only getting hotter. Our new home doesn't have a backyard pool but my parent's do! We celebrated Father's Day with my family last Saturday and took Ellington for her first swim.
She loves her bath time so I assumed she'd enjoy the pool and I was right! She had the cutest swimsuit, sun hat, and sunnies on that were a gift from our dear friends Becky and Jim. We started off by sitting on the steps into the pool to get her accustomed to the water temperature and she was so serious the whole time. She didn't crack a smile until about 20 minutes in and only when she saw me or Ronnie.
My Dad took her back and forth across the length of the pool and she would consistently push her belly forward for him to float her on her belly. She'd push her arms back and "fly" through the pool. It was the sweetest thing to see and I'm so thankful we have photos from her first swim experience.
I'm hopeful she'll love the water and not be fearful as I was as a child. We plan on swimming a lot this summer to beat the heat and hopefully Ellington will become a little fishy!
